The weekend weather in Boston held out long enough for me to shoot my first maternity session! My beautiful friend Anna is due to give birth any day now, and I am so happy I got to capture her remaining time of pregnancy.
Anna and I met about six years ago while working on the New England Aquarium’s Whale Watch boat. She has become a very good friend over the years. Before the shoot, we caught up over brunch and reminisced about our days working on the boat, especially the stupid questions passengers used to ask us…our favorite being ‘what ocean are we on?’ We also discussed all things pregnancy related, as I have many questions. I am so thankful to have a friend that is as open as I am and who is not shy on the details.
Since we consider Boston’s waterfront our ‘old stomping grounds,’ we thought it would be the perfect backdrop for her session. However, June in Boston means tourists galore around Downtown and the North End. I suggested that we take our shoot over to East Boston, where the entire harbor and skyline would fill the frame. She agreed, and these photographs were taken at both LoPresti and Piers Park in Eastie. Anna and her husband Anar are the coolest parents to be and I cannot wait to come back and meet their one in the coming months! Check out the photos below:
